    Car made two passes, first pass ECU cut power to motor due to probable fuel issues. Got a warning after the first pass for time to slow it down. Ran a second pass and got the boot after but made a clean pass. Need to tweak the tune now- they are going to adjust the 2/3 shift, add some timing in the first shift, bring up the boost ramp sooner in first and increase our launch control rpm cause there's definitely more in the car.... but this is good enough for a first outing and made it home with the A/C on

    Haha yeah. I will be honest and say I didn't drive it- my husband did cause there were too many variables for its first track outing and we wanted to see how it went but he did tell the lady when she warned him that he didn't care and he was just going to send it one more time

    Aside from calling a drag strip the "track" this is pretty awesome. Are you going to add the necessary safety stuff to not get kicked out next time? My Evo is just reaching the point where I can get kicked off for no cage.

    A cage has always been in the back of our minds but I hate the idea of hacking up a nice car that's hard to get and a dash that is no longer made. Eventually we will do one if we want to continue making passes in it but we'll try to go a couple more times and make some 1/8 mile passes and then one full pass to get kicked out. We also have a local track that is fairly lax so we can always go there but there's a point where I would prefer a live husband over a pristine car.

    Hahahaha yeah I definitely worded that wrong. Oops sorry- I guess what I meant was our car isn't that scary yet where I feel the cage is absolutely necessary.

    (Added a little roll vid from Mexico since I have nothing interesting new.. roasted the tires for a min and gave the other car some hope haha)

    Just gave the thumbs up to our shop to start assembling our built shortblock (we'll take the car back this winter to put it in) and ordered some GSC s2 cams.
    Hoping to fully max out the current turbo with a little more confidence and shoot for low 9s in the 150+ mph range.
    After that we can do a bigger turbo and built head as well but for now this will do. Need to get back and see what we can do currently in the 1/4 as it sits before it starts to comeback apart again.

    Less than a month until the new setup is underway and we have one final outing on the old setup to see what we can squeeze out of it coming up on the 28. Of course we had already switched back to 93 and taken the car apart in preparation for the motor swap...
    Anyone want to wager on numbers for the new build? We have certain expectations but not sure it will put down as much as we thought.
    Keep in mind it’s all through an auto trans- last setup made 660/521 on 54% ethanol.
    This will be a built 10:1 motor with fully ported head, gsc s2s, pte 7275 (we downsized from our original purchase of the 7675 when they released this recently), and nitrous to help it off the line (probably a 125-150 shot for our needs) and of course on e85

    Rental update... track officials were super strict today so even 1/8 mile passes that were too fast would result in being asked to leave even though they usually only care about the 1/4 and et.
    Two runs to just the 330 after adjusting the launch control to try for a 1.3x 60ft and hopefully a 9.4 pass. Unfortunately that didn’t pan out it was too much and the car spun (1.6 and 1.7 60 ft) as well as the first pass one of our fuel pumps started losing pressure and was giving us some fuel cut issues. Car did one full pass to a 10.0 at 143 before (1.5 60 ft) we dropped the launch control back down a bit. Final pass was a personal best again although not our desired time for the day at a 9.6 at 144. At least it made it home without breaking and now we can switch to the new setup next week knowing we at least tried once more...

    Things never go according to plan and this trip was no different but here’s the start of updates... more to follow as the week progresses.
    Arrived in Florida on 12/4 and the motor was out of the car that day... we personally delivered the trans to ATF about 4 hours from the shop to have it freshened up in preparation- but instead of a same day turn around as we hoped that took two additional days but no big deal. A broken o ring on a vanjen clamp caused some issues when the part was listed incorrectly on the website and was then ordered twice and there were numerous shipping delays with the holidays etc.
    Our shop came down to the wire but had the car ready to go on the dyno and then hopefully to the track after that the day before we were due to leave.
    Car gets in the dyno and our newly refreshed trans won’t shift into third. Grrreeeaaaatttt
    Trans was pulled and shipped out before we even made it back to the shop but we opted to leave the car instead of wait for it so we could attend a track rental they are hosting this Saturday. Trans didn’t get back to them as quick as hoped but we were no longer on a time constraint and the car finally hit the dyno.
    Preliminary number on boost only from today was 921whp with boost in the high 30s.. Still have to add the nitrous and finish up and then it will get to make some passes Saturday. Fingers crossed that the trans holds up as it’s now technically our weakest link. On a positive note we have been concerned about being able to build boost off the line without nitrous but the car easily made 10psi so it shouldn’t be an issue after all. So far so good!

    1/4 mile results are in. 7 total passes yesterday, 6 were boost only and then we tried to do one nitrous pass but the track wasn’t holding so the car spun and the bottle was never warm enough as the rental was over when we were rushed to make the pass.
    Car ran beautifully. A few minor hiccups but all easily fixed. First pass off the trailer was an 8.86 at 153mph hitting the rev limiter 3 times. 1.32 60ft which was a huge improvement from our 1.46 previously. Best 60ft of the day was a 1.27 but the tank had gotten a little low so the car fuel cut and it was a wasted pass where the car just coasted through the rest of it.
    Best pass was a 8.81 at 157 with a 1.35 60. With a little more work we hope to see some 8.6s at least on boost only then we can add in the nitrous.
    All in all it was a super successful day as we were skeptical it would even hit 8.99 without the nitrous. We didn’t clinch the a340e record yet but we’ll try again (it’s an 8.61) another day

    Thank you sir, we are extremely happy with the outcome so far. Still just want to get some 8.5s out of the car in the near future hopefully although up in NJ we can’t run anywhere until we get all the safety equipment in so no more test runs for awhile.

    Thanks I appreciate the offer. I’m kinda dedicated to buying from my guys though cause they have treated us very well. Hopefully no need for a new motor soon although I anticipate a new turbo in the future cause the husband gets bored easy. He’s ready for 7s now lol

    Well it’s been awhile since any updates as the car has been sitting at the fab shop since the beginning of June. It’s almost done and ready to come home- just needs the chute mounted, cage painted, and new seats mounted (unfortunately we lost the stock front seats which we wanted to keep due to some fitment issues)
    It missed its deadline to make it for an event in Florida the beginning of October but it will ship down there as soon as it’s complete to try to get some nitrous passes in now that it’s safer. Hopefully have some new times before the end of the year
