    Unusually Light Steering

My evo's steering is a lot lighter than it should be. Recently got my motor done and I think the steering column came out and they had to put it back in. Might of caused another problem. The steering feels direct but it feels stupid light. I did get an alignment afterwards because the steering wheel wasn't straight, the alignment shop didn't say anything and the suspension all looks sorted. Looking for quick ideas before I take it some where. Thank you!

Light at low speed, high[er] speed or all of the above?

First thing I'd check is caster, then tyre pressure. What does the alignment printout show?

Pretty much at any speed. It reacts to almost all bumps in the road. I don't have the alignment sheet, they didn't give me one. I did check the tire pressure but my suspension is stock besides lowering springs.

Were I to hazard a guess from across the interwebs with limited data, I'd say the caster setting is way too low.

The alignment data you don't have should have that setting. Call the shop that did it to see if they keep records.

LCA bushing could be bad. If it gets worn and scrunched up, you'll loose Caster. Stock should be 4.5 or 4 degrees.

Update on this: I went to another alignment shop and they said my caster settings where good but my toe was a little off. Now it drives a lot better, I think the steering is back to normal. Wish I would of went to them in the first place.

    Thanks for the help!
