while casually driving home i had a immediate smell gas and car started to stumble. there was a failure from the AN to quick connect fitting that connects to the hard line by the firewall . this is a radium rail.
im wondering if this was a random fluke or is a more dependable fitting out there. was not a fun day dealing with this in rush hour traffic, and this was the best case scenario.

What do you mean by a failure? A failure of you tightening the connection? Usually the AN lines are pretty good for leak proof seal.

If it's the quick connect with the plastic tab fitting, doesn't surprise me. Make sure you use this type:
i bought it as a whole kit from radium, its the hardline quick connect to AN adapter. not the same one as pictured above, yes has 2 plastic tabs sticking out on each side. failed as it came completely off from the hardline and sprayed fuel all over the engine bay.
ill give radium a call but they gave me shitty customer service before so i dont expect much.

When i put my recent engine in, i thought i had everything buttoned up. I specifically remember connecting this plastic connector into the stock fuel rail hardline. Within 30 seconds of turning the engine on, it popped off and sprayed fuel everywhere. Cleaned up the fuel, reconnected it, and hasn't happened since. Me thinks it probably didn't lock in, even though i distinctly remember connecting it securely.

that was also my first thought, that it wasnt really snapped in, but its been on the car for likea year/ 2k miles. i tried to re attach while stranded and no, it just slips off.
If it wasn’t engaged to begin with it would have popped off the moment you went into throttle at 50psi+ of fuel pressure. It probably failed.
Use what I posted or radiums new commectors that have the same type of design.
Really glad you only got stranded. Like you said, could have been a lot worse!
If your engine bay lit on fire it could have been MUCH worse, time to upgrade that connector!
