Life Expectancy on Stock Evo X Panasonic Battery?

So, maybe I'm lucky, but I'm still on the stocker at 93k miles on my 2011 MR, and it's still turning over fine. This past winter, I had no issues, in fact, I can't remember any cranking issues with this car.

I'm curious as to what the life expectancy of the stock battery is, in terms of time, rather than mileage.

Well, mileage too. Does anyone have the maintenance schedule for the battery?

You are very lucky. The stocker became hard to crank this year after 19k miles on my 2014. I replaced it with a mini panasonic battery. Even on cold starts on E85 its been pretty good.

Mine didn't even last on the dealer lot... I bought my car brand new with an Optima RedTop already in it.

Granted, they had the car for two years before I bought it.

The panasonics are known to be trash. Im surprised yours has lasted this long, gotta be a record for one of those.

Best way to make your battery last is to drive it every single day. I made my redtop last for 6.5 years because i drove it atleast 20 minutes a day, or idled for 15min every day if there was a blizzard outside. Its been down for 5 months and now its fucked no matter how much i try to recharge it. Bought a new one.

It's my DD, so I drive the car at least 4 times a week. (I walk to work.)

    Yes, I track my DD.

    Yes, I'm dumb.

    Still on original.

I pull it every winter when I store the car and maintane it as best I can. At full charge it tests at 344CCA so it is weakening. Probably last another year or so before it drops below 300CCA.

Can't remember what the factory spec is off hand but think it's rated at 440CCA.

had to ditch the panasonic last year, it was only 8 years old. But had been fully discharged a few times and wasn't holding charge if left in the garage for more than a couple weeks. Ended up getting the lithium ion and calling it a day : )
