Hell no. You got to drop the whole rear of the car with the subframe, suspension, brakes, axels, tranny, diff and torque tube. Then the headers have to come out which is a royal biatch, then the bell housing and then you can change the clutch =|

Apparently many shops will just drop the whole drivetrain from the car including the engine to do a clutch job lol.

Yes clutch job in vettes are a royal pain in the ass.

Even with a 2 post hoist its a hell of a job. I could not imagine doing it with jackstands on the ground.

Finally got around to order the clutch for the beast. Ended up getting a Moster LT1S triple organic that’s rated to 1200ft/lbs and apparently drives like the OEM clutch (which is a twin organic).
The best part is that I got the clutch kit (flywheel, PP, discs, etc), remote bleeder lines because the OEM system is a PITA, a billet support bearing and a Tilton slave cylinder for $1950 shipped! I feel like all that in Evoland would be like $3k easy, hell just a Exedy triple set me back $2k+...sorry yay for Murica aftermarket prices.
And if the thing does drive as good as people say it does I may have to beg Monster Clutch to make a Evo version of the triple organic because the Exedy drives terrible and that’s as good as it gets with what’s available now...

    Long overdue update.
Since the Evo is broken I've been enjoying the ZR1 a lot more and I've done quite a bit of racing with it lately, man this thing is a BEAST!

Here's a bid from a month or so ago, this was still on the stock clutch:

So after that the clutch pedal kept getting stuck at th efloor so it was def time to replace it. Once the Monster LT1S showed up I had a local Vette race shop do the install for me and I can honestly say that I'm very pleased with the work they performed, everything was done right and there was no drama at all.
I also had the heat wrap the headers since they had to come out anyway for the clutch job.
Here's a few pics of that:

    New cluth looked OEM like

    Clutch swap parts

That's 50' of heat wrap on each bank

The new clutch is amazing. If I didn't know that it's not I would had swore that it is OEM, it's that smooth. Makes a little noice on take of from a stop but thats it, the OEM one did it as well but probably 20% less notisable.

Here's the OEM clutch, not bad for a OEM piece while holding 750+ft/lbs!

Someone posted this in my Evo build thread but I figure I’d throw it in here since it belongs here:

No it’s RWD. TRC did a feature on that car a few days ago, I put the link in the description

Your vette runs its ass off! Hell of a race with that Evo 8.

I saw that WRX was just put up FS for $60k...
