Do you have any objective information to back up your aversion to Group V-based oils?

I used the Torco SR 5 5w50 to my last built motor and seems fine.

Torco is crazy expensive. Any oils closer to mortal prices?

Red Line is pretty cheap through us.

I think this all started when Motul distributors said to never use 300V (their ester-based oil) with E85... seems really anecdotal to me.

I will contact Red Line about it, though... maybe there's something to it.

Thats the stuff that i was reading too. I dont know that much chemical engineering, but it seems like it could be plausible that esters and alcohols are soluble within each other based on their chemical structure. Esters are derived partially from alcohols. My only background in this is organic chemistry courses, so i am really just guessing.

I would be interested to find out from the horse's mouth

    I pay around $70.. buts that's AUD.

I know it's imported into the States, but have no idea of price point.
